Retreat Details

The retreat is held in stunning and unique locations in the jungle mountains of Macaw Jungle Lodge for 3 nights and a pristine jungle at Tiskita Jungle Beach Lodge for 4 Nights. We choose our venues with care. Both locations we use for the retreat are locally owned, therefore you are supporting local Costarican families and the local economy by booking this retreat. Both venues are deeply special in their work to support local communities nearby and conservation. Both are such beautiful stunning pristine and natural immersive places. You will feel completely and truly immersed in natural serene environments, far away from the tourists, and off the tourist trails. and just surrounded by green, birds, beautiful sounds, such richness of beautiful plants, flowers, trees and PURE LIFE.

For the logistics of this retreat, you will have to arrive to San Jose, Costa Rica the night before the retreat (July 12th, accommodation near the airport on in San Jose is not included that evening) to be ready to depart on July 13th, early departure 8 a.m. Pick up at the airport area, transfer to Macaw Lodge. On July 16th we transfer via van (included) to Tiskita Lodge and stay in Tiskita for 4 Nights and depart on the July 20th, via included transfer from to San Jose, airport drop off.

  • Accommodation in San José or Airport area the evening before and/ or after the retreat.

  • Please note shuttle service is only 1 service included from the airport at 8:00 a.m. on the 13th of July. If you chose to arrive before or after, you would need to pay separate for your transpiration to Macaw Lodge.

  • Transportation included during the retreat includes departure from Tiskita A.M. after breakfast on a group shuttle on July 20th to the airport in San Jose as drop off point.( Apron 6 hours). You may consider a late flight that day, or the next day. If you chose to leave earlier or after the shuttle, go somewhere else after the airport, you would have to cover the shuttle or transportation service on your own. If you have an early flight to depart: You can book a taxi from Tiskita to the airport for $80 USD and book a flight from Golfito to the airport in San Jose for Aprox. USD $175 with Sansa (45 minutes to the international airport/ 3 different schedules).

About Analu

Ana Lucia Fariña was born in Costa Rica. She has been in the spiritual world since young age, studying and practicing with diverse renown teachers, and inspired by eastern philosophies and spiritual traditions. She does Akashic readings, and teaches Yoga ERYT500+ and meditation since 2009. A musician passionate for holding kirtans and sound healing, she offers diverse experiences worldwide such as yoga teacher trainings, retreats, philosophy, spiritual travel journeys, mindfulness and sound healing journeys. She holds an MBA, Ma and is devoted to her spiritual path, inspired by Mahayana buddhism, Yoga studies, Advaita Vedanta amongst meso-american shamanic traditions. You can read more about her here Guest teacher Manuel Gomez, costarican who lives in Colorado, USA, Ma. in Somatic Counselor and meditation teacher will be joining at Macaw Lodge for some workshops sessions.

Manuel Gomez Solera Ma.

Manuel was born and raised in Costa Rica. He graduated from the School of Psychology at the Universidad de Costa Rica and received his Master’s degree in Somatic Psychology from Naropa University. He is passionate about promoting the functional unity of the bodymind to support people to experience higher levels of functioning, creativity, and integrity in their lives. Manuel’s work is further supported by a strong neuroscience and mindfulness background that guides clients to sharpen self-awareness and cultivate internal resources so they may better navigate life’s situations with spontaneity and skill. Manuel has been part of teams providing emergency psychiatric services for people in crisis and/or with a diagnosis of severe mental illness. He has also served at outpatient clinics for people from diverse ages and backgrounds dealing with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, and grief. In addition to this work, Manuel leads workshops on meditation, body psychotherapy, and movement in collaboration with other colleagues in the yoga and wellness industry internationally.

He has years of experience working with adolescents and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and nationalities in different settings such as therapeutic boarding schools, outdoor experiential education, and the public school system. He has also led and coordinated programs to empower youth and encourage them to become active global citizens, while growing into the best version of themselves as young adults. Sitting in circles and sharing with other men the intricacies of masculinity in today’s society is another one of Manuel’s interests. Finding the balance between the healthy masculine and feminine principles within every individual, and supporting others into making contact with their personal power by living with a sense of purpose and integrity is another one of his passions. Manuel enjoys playing music, dancing, mountain biking, motorcycling, surfing and hiking with his friends and wife. He is also kept on his toes by parenting twin boys.O

A variety of Healthy Meals is available for you!The collection has many well-known types of tropical fruit, including Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Banana, Guava, Grapefruit, Sweet Lemon, Lime, and Oranges. Less widely known types of tropical fruit are, for example, Jackfruit, Mangosteen, and South American Sapote.

MEALS: The kitchen staff prepares both traditional Costa Rican and western dishes. Vegetarian diets, or other special dietary requirements, are easily accommodated.

  • 6:30 am - 8:30 am - Yoga practice and meditation

  • 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and time off

  • 10:30 am - 12:30 p.m. - Session 1 (Hiking/ Workshop)

  • 12:30 p.m. - Lunch

  • 2:30-4:30 p.m. -Session 2 (Workshop/ Sound healing / Massage).

  • 6:30 p.m.- Dinner and rest

Our first stop: Macaw Lodge

WHERE YOUR SOUL OPENS TO NATURE

The Venue

Nestled among the hills and lush forests of the Cerros de Turrubares, in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica, Macaw Lodge is more than just an eco-resort. It is a paradise where you can pamper your senses and discover the genuine natural wonders of Costa Rica. The Lodge has 15 charming rooms: 8 Standard rooms and 7 Bungalows. The standard rooms are located inside the main building, while the Bungalows are located nearby.

The Rooms

The 8 standard roomsare located on the second floor of the main building, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the main lobby. Each room is equipped with

Our second stop:Tiskita Jungle Lodge

The Venue

Tiskita Jungle Lodge, the best kept secret in Costa Rica, is an ecolodge that offers the opportunity to experience pristine tropical rainforest in its 800 acre private biological reserve. Tiskita is about as remote as one can get, located at the end of the road on the secluded southwest coast of Costa Rica. 

  • A beautiful and quiet Yoga Shala immersed in the Costarican jungle with a view on the Pacific Ocean.

  • Tiskita has a swimming pool, a small library, and other facilities. When you lounge by the swimming pool, birds, monkeys, sloths, and the resident iguanas are usually around.

  • Healthy food offered by the restaurant.

  • A waterfall and fresh water pools are located nearby the lodge. The trails into Tiskita’s private biological reserve and the organic orchard also start at the lodge.

  • Coffee, tea, hot chocolate milk, tropical fruit juice, and filtered water are available at the lodge throughout the day, free of charge.

  • You will be walking distance to the most famous Pavones beach!

  • The lodge has a small gift shop with apparel, jewelry designed and made in Costa Rica, and crafts made by the Guaymí, the local indigenous population

  • Nature walks, bird watching, horse back riding , surfing, night tours, beach and snorkelling activities.

  • There is no music at the lodge, the only sounds are the nearby ocean and the wildlife.

Our 15 Casitas surround the Lodge and are nestled in the jungle allowing our guests to experience the robust amount of wildlife all from the comfort of your front porch hammock. No need to hike into the jungle...staying at Tiskita means that you're already thereThe cabins were built using precious woods like Mahogany, Purpleheart, and Rosewood. The wood was collected over the years mostly from trees that fell down in Tiskita. All cabins are only a few minute’s walk away from the lodge, the rainforest, and the beach.

PRIVACY: The cabins are spread out around the lodge and landscaped to ensure privacy. Tiskita’s small number of cabins also helps to ensure privacy.

WILDLIFE: Each cabin is surrounded by trees that attract birds, butterflies, monkeys, and other wildlife, making the cabins’ decks often one of the best spots to relax and watch the wildlife go by the Yoga shall.
